Paint or stain codes proprietary?

Seriously? Thomas Kinkade was the inovator of light and shadowing. Have you ever seen an original Kinkade that he himself did? Not a reprint, an original? Ok at some point he sold out but that does not mean he did not have talent.

And I did not get what was implied. It was implied the doors would match the front door, they do not, not even close. How do you see that is getting what was implied. And if you all have noticed I have not mentioned either company in any of this post. If I was on a witch hunt I would have. I simply want what I was sold.

You excepted the mismatch as was said previously , and now want to bring it up , only because you damaged the door .

Your feelings don't count and he may have been simply shoving you off because he didn't want to deal with you.

So, go back to the dealer with a hard copy of the ad and go:

they don't match the other door. I need you, as a dealer for XXXXX garage doors, the entity I purchased them from, and a generally nice guy to acquire doors that match my other door as the advertisement I hold in my hand states your doors will.

I will do exactly that tomorrow.

I am also going to attempt to match the stain again. The door rep sent me an email a few minutes ago saying he contacted the garage door company and got no where with them They feel their stain combo is theirs and not giving it up to anyone. Instead he is now going to include their walnut stain kit along with their mahogany and is going to stop by to see if he can help me develope a close match. That is customer service. We only need close not exact.

I have not done any research on garage door repair companies mainly because the damage is only to the finish it is not dented or hurt other than that. I did contact several cabinet stain companies to see if they could match the stain. They are pretty much all saying with a multilevel process getting a match was going to be very difficult. If they had a base to start off it would be easier but again the garage door company will offer nothing for information.

Ok, so this post has about run it's course. I do apprecaite all the info and advice good and bad. Anyone that responded has brought something to the plate wether I wanted to hear it or not and I do appreciate it all.

At this point i am going to do as advised in a previous post and ask the dealer to remedy the problem and also work with the door manufacturer and try to develope a close match. If we get close that will work. I will also follow up with consumer afairs if for no other reason than to see if I was given correct info, all though it sounds like I wasn't. This is my last purcahse through the garage door company for sure. I will continue to use the door company and push their product aggressively.

Oh for pete's sake! Go pick out a new color and paint both the door and the garage door with the new color. End of problem. Hurray!
