Well, I know that in OH it apparently makes a difference. If a parent has joint physical, then they're obligated to exercise their time, or find an alternative care provider. If they only have visitation, then they are not obligated (the whole, it's a right not an obligation thing).PA is where the custody order is; OH is where CS was filed. Apparently.

(And thanks for the clarification. It really does seem like a nebulous definition, the difference between types of physical custody.)
I don't know FOR SURE that PA is different from OH, only that many states don't make that distinction between "custody" and "visitation" when it comes to time with the child. And, in fact, I know several states tend to use the verbiage interchangeably. In my order (yeah, different state, but just as an example), time with the kids is referred to in different places as "temporary custodial periods", "visitation" and "parenting time". "Parenting time" is actually the preferred language in MO, and the one I prefer as well.
