Thanks Happy Trails for being descent. Those of you that have nothing but discouragement and no legal advise to offer, please stay out of this post....Your opinion is negative and unimportant to me and it will be ignored.
Your son is a fugative from prosecution. You are harboring him (in the strict sense). Do you NOT REALIZE that you too can be charged with a felony?

Lady, I told you to get real about this. You have no idea how seriously deep you are in your son's trouble.

Substantive Issues?

Why have you evaded the question of the mother in this situation participating in a felony herself?

THAT is the substantive issue here.
I agree that /one/ substantive issue is whether she has some criminal liability at this point, in theory.

It's unclear. She certainly doesn't have a duty to report his location to the police just because she knows where he is, if that's what you're implying. She didn't state whether she is sending him money or anything, or whether he's staying with her. Obviously that would change things, but has she stated anything to that effect? She didn't actually state that he is living with her, did she?

If you can assume a search of a vehicle is unconstitutional without being there, then I can assume she is committing a felony.

Or are you saying you are the ONLY omnipotent one in the legal world?

Okay, I'll also assume she is committing a felony. we're even.

I already told her to knock that off by turning him in.

Well, I can say I support my son, I'm his mom, that's what mom's do. I support my future daughter-in-law and I love my grandbaby. If she's old enough to have a baby she's not a child. I will continue to have faith in God, He has more control than any court system.

I have trust in God also, I trust that He will guide law enforcement to your child molesting son!
You don't seem to get it...YOUR SON HAD SEX WITH A LITTLE GIRL!! HIS STEPSISTER!
By your own postings, this man has many issues. How many young girls will be raped by him before you see this?
Your his mother and you love him....that is good! But as his mother you need to open your eyes, see the problem and take him to get help!!
To say that because this 14year old girl is physically able to have a child no longer makes her a child is disgusting and wrong!
You, with your word and actions, are condoning this sick behavior with your son!

I cannot believe you actually said that!! My daughter started her menstrual cycle when she was 10... so your stance is "IF SHE'S OLD ENOUGH TO BLEED, SHE'S OLD ENOUGH TO BREED"??????????????? You are disgusting mam!

And it seems as though your son is not only facing statutory rape, but desertion charges from the military as well... I was going to tell you from a legal stand point that being "charged with" and being "sentenced for" are two separate issues that his lawyer and the DA will work out... but now that all of the factors are entered into the equation, I don't see that the military or the state will show mercy in this situation.

I only wish someone who represents this child would see your posts on here and show them to the DA so YOU would be arrested as well!!! At least your son has enough brains to want to turn himself in... you are trying to get him to run for 3 years... NICE MOTHER YOU ARE!!!

And this little baby girl that has just ruined her childhood by having a baby... won't even remember your son's name in a few years when she becomes mature adult... she will move on and find real love... I feel so sorry for the innocent life that has just been brought into the world and has a baby for a mommy...

If this is so 'disgusting' and 'wrong' and some consider him a rapist/child molester, and she's a 'child' at age 14...then why is the age of consent in some states age 14? Are these states allowing their own 14 year old 'children' to be 'raped/molested'?

And just HOW IS SHE TO SUPPORT SAID CHILD???? She isn't even old enough to get a job!!! So looks like our tax dollars are used once again to raise a child's baby!!!

and to answer your question about states that allow this... YES YES YES!!! Would you want your 14 year old daughter to be screwing every tom dick and harry??? I feel physically sick to my stomach that you even are allowed to have parental rights at all!!!

Lady you are either one sick **** or just too stupid to contemplate!
IN YOUR OWN STATE HE IS A MOLESTOR! If you don't like the laws ....go to your legislator and seek to have them changed! I am sure that they will give it deep consideration!

Then why aren't the charges 'child molestation' or 'rape' vs. 'statutory sexual seduction'? There appears to be a big difference between them.

"Statutory sexual seduction" is fancy lawyer talk for child molestation (including rape).

'Child molestation' likely has an age component that has the victim being UNDER 14 and/or without consent ... 'rape' is usually an act conducted by force or fear ... and, 'statutory sexual seduction' is probably your state's charge for statutory rape (i.e. the charge one faces when an adult has consensual sexual relations with a child who cannot legally consent to sex under the law).

They are different - they are supposed to be.

Your son has some serious problems ... and as a desserter and fugitive, do you really think he will be able to provide for his "love" and his child in any way?

I see grandparents or the state raising his child soon.

Thank you Judge and Java. No, he will most likely not be able to take care of anyone for a while, unfortunately. There are consequences for his choices. I can only hope/pray for the best. I know 'this too shall pass'.

It is "Statutory Sexual Seduction of a Sibling" , remember? Lady, your son is going to have a stigma the rest of his life.

1.Registering as a sex offender.
2. A dishonerable discharge from the military.

With both of these,...........what kind of job is he getting?

Great parenting skills lady.
