What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Just an update for all you Haters out there the other day...I contacted attorney & she DOES have some legal rights to emancipate now that she's pregnant...will have to petition the court if it comes to that.
As far as statutory rape, they could try to press it but would have a fight considering they moved him in & gave permission for sex. (by the way, this is not even being considered on their part, especially since the couple is still together)
This is all from a real attorney. I'd never been to this site before & was looking for advice, but basically got nothing but judgement & attitude...apparently the ones bein rude dont have teens in their lives or they're livin under a rock...most teens do have sex!
Anyway, thanks for nothin & have a nice lifeWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Oh, just for the record:
The living arrangement requirement to receive TANF says that a state is prohibited from spending federal TANF funds on assistance to an unmarried, minor, custodial parent unless she lives with a parent, legal guardian or other adult relative or is approved for an exception. The law recognizes limited exceptions to
this rule including situations in which a parent, legal guardian, or other adult relative is not available or when such a placement could result in harm to the minor parent and/or her child.

So, if Pregnant Teen could be emancipated (highly unlikely, no matter what you've been 'told'), she would be ineligible for government aid. This is FEDERAL law.

Parents can not give permission to make the illegal legal.

If mom and dad got the little lovers the hotel room, handed them the (worthless) condom on the way to the elevator and then high five the boy afterward, it is STILL illegal.

Even if.

the only change is that mom and dad can be charged as well. Parents are supposed to protect their children from sexual predators... not encourage it.

Why do they think they just have to wait a couple of days, then come back and say "I was right!"? Like, we're just going to say "Ooops, sorry"?

Hey. SFB. Not-so-nice try.

On last point.

There is not an attorney on the planet that would say, "A judge is just not going to prosecute statutory rape".... when there are at least 3 mandatory reporters that are going to be involved with the birth of the child.
