Can a company keep their paint or stain codes proprietary? We purchased garage doors and had them stained by the company. Now we are in need of repairing the doors stain but the company will not provide the codes or offer the stain for purchase so we may make the repair to match. We have tried color matching but because of the nature of these multi-application process''s with out all the info it is all but impossible to match.
These doors are only a few weeks old and very expensive. I would think a consumer would have the right to the color that was applied so a repair canbe made or at least provide the stain and instructions. It makes no sense that if they are damged even slightly you either have to live with them or replace them. Yes? No?
Thank you in advance.
