  Your husband should begin discretely looking for a new job. People often get let go after a company sale, and it is just about crystal clear that the new owners do not value him in the least. Moving to a new job at this point would be a very good career move before he is let go or wastes more...

  This landlord's conduct sounds reasonable and normal. You are making a mountain out of a molehill. The landlord is not abusing the notice requirements. You should expect landlords to be actively trying to rerent after you give notice.

  You need to get a fresh survey, a lawyer, and your own engineer. This has turned into an adversarial situation. The report of the neighbor's engineer is not binding on you. You may also wish to involve your homeowners insurance, but consult a lawyer first.

  I haven't seen anything posted here that say the general duties of a housekeeper in a hotel are subject to any OSHA or California mandate requiring PPE. Common sense is not an OSHA finding.

  Yes. The hotel does not have to provide gloves, AND they can insist you not to wear them. (I'm not sure how sensible this is as a policy, it seems dumb, but they can do it.)
