All I know is this business about receiving ANTS via mail or UPS in Massachusetts during February and March, is bothering me (note my smooth avoidance of the obvious pun :D ).
I give up... What's the pun / hidden joke? (I could use a laugh)

I do not know why I'm getting stuff in the mail or why this freak has taken the time to order it to my house. But the Ants are the most oddest things that have been delivered and they continue to arrive here (I don't want them and I now have to many).

Remember, Megan seems to know a lot about ants  and she said that they won't deliver ants to where you are when it is below freezing. Calm down, I'm pulling for ya. I don't think there are enough facts here to make an opinion either way and I still believe innocent until proven guilty.

I could have said the business about the ANTS is bugging me.
Now do you see why I avoided it :)?

Tyson said: "I don't think there are enough facts here to make an opinion either way and I still believe innocent until proven guilty."

I have to admit, I lost track of or never understood to begin with, exactly what OP has been saying. I "get" that he says he was given a free site and that site HAD BEEN USED to sell cracker stuff. After that, it's all a blur.

I don’t understand if the prior use of this “free” site has any impact on the current scam someone thinks OP is running.

I don't understand where, when, how, the ID thief was "selling" CD's or DVD's. I don't understand why the thief would have had the money put into OP's account and then leave it there for OP to use! What was the point of getting the money if he was going to let OP have it?

I don’t understand why the thief would buy things and send them to the OP. Every single time he pretends to be OP, he creates another trail for authorities to follow. Why would he take risks that are of no benefit to him?

I don’t know who “Adam” is.

About all I do understand, is that its highly unlikely OP is receiving shipments of LIVE ANTS at this time of year. Since he says he IS receiving such, I must question his credibility.

OP, evidently there are others here who are able to understand ALL that you are describing, so don’t try to explain further for my benefit. I don’t need to understand it all, as I would have no clue how to help you anyway.

Like Tyson, I consider you innocent till proven guilty and while I do have one eyebrow raised about the ANTS, I continue to offer you my most sincere good wishes for a speedy resolution to your problem.

Have you contacted the company sending you ants and asked why they keep sending them?
I have tried to contact a few of the companies who have sent me things (such as 1 pc case, 1 dvd-rw, 1 cpu, 1 ant farm, and 6 packs of ants (400 ants) ) and because I can not supply the details of the order (such as the e-mail address used or credit card)... No one is willing to provide me any details.

You'll forgive me saying so, but it's f*cked up. Because it seems as time goes by, the freak who has my ID is passing more and more like they are me and I feel like I have less and less control over it. :(

Well I agree with Megan on a few things like why is this "freak" sending you things and why would they put that $$$ in your account?

But as far as the ants, try telling them about what has happened and that you don't want anymore. Or put return to sender on it, don't accept it. And why the hell would you want ants as a pet? Maybe it's because I read water meters for a month and had to walk through tall grass with 20 ant beds. Those little f***ers hurt!!! The only good ant is a dead ant. :)

I am a bad accountant too. I'm like you in that I check my balance to see what I have. Balance a checkbook......ha! That's way to logical.

I don't know what to tell ya. I've never had anything like this happen to me. I think the reason I believe ya is the way you are trying to explain things and you are very persistant. You do seem truely scared and deperate for help. If it makes you feel better I'm in trouble too but I deserve all of my problems.

I demand you put a smile on your next post!!! Your too young to frown so much.

meganproser I'll explain in a much shorter way (try too).....

Sometime ago I did get a free domain and that domain had been used to host illegal content, but I did not know that at the time. The only real connection between that & now; is that domain is pointing to a dedicated site about me and how people believe I scammed them. It may have also been some how linked to those scams though, as the scammer may have pointed out the domain to people, while he/she was telling everyone they where me.

During the past 1yr my pc was hacked into and I believe (though I could be wrong), that this is how someone was able to get my ID. I did everything I could to secure my pc on my end. I spent the past year trying to get my ISP involved into the matter, but only got the run around. It was only until the start of this year, that my ISP finally did look into the matter and help me fix the problem.

Life continues and believed everything was fine, until I started getting e-mails from people asking me where their stuff was or asking for a refund (stuff I never sold and money I never had). I also got an e-mail from someone who said I had hacked his/her site and they showed me a user log with my e-mail address and Ip. So odds are the hacker used my pc remotely.

This made me do some digging and looking around, as I also recalled getting some e-mails from paypal in the past, but I paid no mind to them as I thought they where only scams (not really from paypal). I thought they where scams, because I knew I had not open a paypal account and the idea of someone else using my ID never crossed my mind at the time (who think this will ever happen to them?).

Turns out that those e-mails (paypal) may have been real and I did some more searching and looking to the matter & begin to get the local police, FBI, and such into the matter. It seems that someone had used my ID and scammed a lot of people on a few sites. These people have been lead to believe it's me, because the scammer was very willing to say he/she was me and even supplied some of my details. She/he even left one of those sites admitting he/she had scammed everyone (if I understand correctly from some of the post) and continued to say they where me.

Adding up all the claims I read on some of those sites, it looks like she/her scammed at least 5,000 or more. The people who seemed to have come forth (not everyone who claimed they got scammed on those sites came forth) have claimed a total thus far of 1,600. Looking over my old bank records, because I admit I was not smart to do so sooner and keep better record... I added a total of 1,270 that did end up in my account. No, I do not know why and yes I know that does not look good.

I have made a report and the many other people who have been scammed are making reports now. Right now I am trying to find away on my end, that I could do to maybe stop this freak from continuing his/her actions and I'm also trying to find better ways to prove this was not me. In the mean time, it seems I'm getting stuff in the mail and finding stuff left on my back door. So now I'm confused and do not know if this was just some random freak or someone who does not like me, in away I do not even what to think of (is it a personal attack?).

The only thing on my end, that I believe would prove that I did not do this, is the fact that I did try to make a report about my pc being hacked on and off for the past year. Also the fact that all the funds missing, did not go into my account and I do not know where the rest of it is.

I did not scam anyone and "if" I was ever going to be dumb enough to do something like this (which I"m not crazy enough and never will or would or have)... Wouldn't I have tried to hide who I was? This freak openly told everyone he/she was me (gave them my full name) and even provided detail on where I may have lived (my old address). It would have been like me buying a billboard or a full page ad in The New York Times, pointing myself out.

** Please forgive my grammar. I tried to make it short & to the point as fast as possible

Ok, I finally think I "get" it. I have one big question for you though.

until I started getting e-mails from people asking me where their stuff was or asking for a refund (stuff I never sold and money I never had). I also got an e-mail from someone who said I had hacked his/her site

WHY were you opening emails from people you don't know? Especially considering you knew someone had hacked your pc? I mean, one of the main ways a hacker gets in is by you opening an e that contains a Trojan.

It DOES sound as if the main goal of this person is to set you up. I don't see how they are getting anything else out of it.

I assume you’ve already searched the net for info on what to do, but just in case you have missed any of the info on this site, you may want to look it over. It looks as if these are the only things you can do, unless or until the thief is stopped.

At this point, I no longer care what or is the freaks goal. I just want me life back and I want to "try" too put all this past me. Sadly I know that is a whole lot easier said then done. :(

I do know that this freak has ran off with a lot more then what the few people here are claiming. So I know she/he got something out of it. I'm more worried that they are still using my ID & that I will have to continue to pay for what this SOB has done to me and the many other unexpecting victims.

A few things I have done thus far:

1.) Made many reports to comcast about myself being hacked into and also made reports of it on a few sites (dating back as far as 2003). I've been printing some of those out and also informing Comcast to get everything together. I've also advised them of the current matter.

2.) Made an report with all three credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union). Though I'm resubmitting the reports this Monday by mail. Sadly all three have informed me that the information I gave them, is not what they have on file (which is odd, cause I've been living here for about 1yr). Needless to say, I'm going to use this to put a full alert, rather then just the standard first 90 alert.

3.) Made a report with the local police and also added my end of the report of the people who made a report on me (cause they think I'm the one who did this)

4.) Made a report with The FBI and am continuing to update that report as things move along.

5.) Have informed my old bank of the matter. The account was closed sometime ago.

6.) Informed my current bank of this matter and froze my own account (My own doing. I did not want this freak to have access to it and I did not want anyone to think I was going to spend the rest of it).

7.) Made a report with Paypal Fraud

8.) Made a report with The Federal Trade Commission

9.) Have informed my family of the current matter and to advice them to take need action also (so they will be safe too).

And that's about where I am today. I'm still scared to death that this freak is going to continue to use my ID and cause my harm on people who do not know any better and I'm worried I'll be left to pick up the mess. I'm scared that he/she will scam the wrong person and someone will end up on my door, wanting to cause me & my family harm and I'm scared of what out come this could have on me.

I can't say it enough... It's a living nightmare.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe a jealous, crazy ex-boyfriend may be the "freak"? It seems like this person knows way too much about you, and the fact that they are sending stuff to your house seems like a revenge tactic to try to get you in trouble, or scare you. Maybe that might be worth looking into?? :).............Edit: Sorry, let's make that ex-girlfriend or partner, I thought you were female for some reason!!

I do not know if you are being sarcastic or not. But if you are getting them almost "daily", I would contact paypal and double check if they have heard of you. The e-mails I got where once in a while.... I didn't get them daily (more like 1 or maybe 2 in a weeks time). The only reason I finally thought about looking into them, was because of the people who suddenly starting asking me, where their stuff was or for their money back (stuff I never sold and money I never had).

But there are scam e-mail going around asking people to log into their bank account and update their personal information. Sadly there are people who do not know any better and do fall for this. The truth is, no respectable bank would ever ask of such from you. If your bank did have a problem with something, they would ask you to come in person either by post mail or over then phone.

A lot of places (such as your ISP & bank) tell you that you should never click a link within these kinds of e-mails and you should either report them or delete them.
I wasn't being sarcastic at all. I wanted anyone who doubted your situation to know that yes there are these fake emails going around ALOT! And that you are not making it up! I think you sound very sincere, and I believe your story and I am hoping for the best for you! Also, I did forward alot of those emails to Paypal and they always confirmed it was a scam, so I quit being concerned. Yes they do link you to a site to update your information and the page looks identical to paypals, however if you look at the address in your browsers address bar, you will generally find that you are redirected to a whole other site, but most people don't notice that. I have 3 email accounts, that is why I get so many of them, I get 2 or 3 a week to each account (estimating). :)

If Adam doesn't come back you have to keep us updated. Good luck, I hope they catch whoever did it.
