Hope you got all of your absurd opinions in shellyandty because I am pretty sure this thread is about to be locked.
Is your ESP kicking in? I did not find her opinions obsurd at all. Is she not allowed to have one?

Section8 housing issue

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is the name of your state?fl I had a housing hearing to detemine my eligibility to stay on there program, after an arrest that I had, the arrest was for domestic violence with my husband simple argument that did not occur at the property address where I live,

Excuse me, but I see nothing resembling the Scott Peterson case. She isn't going to get section 8 housing any longer.

If you are a lawyer and want to represent her, go for it.( I highly doubt it).

I wasn't trying to insult anyone, but if I did...it was only my opinion not fact.

that response was for Shellandty when she said, "Seems like the ex is the real cause of all these problems." You obviously haven't been paying attention to the entire thread to point that out....Besides didn't you say this was a moot point? Why are you still responding? I mean come on, you're not responding to anything positive to the posters question.

Paridise ~ Are you having a bad day? You sure seem crotchety. I never told her she could not have an opinion, and in fact was encouraging her to respond before the thread was locked. The reason I believed it was going to be locked was because another senior member commented about the thread being way off the mark. I never have claimed to have ESP ~ so lighten up already, will you? And here I was, just starting to like you. :p

Oh, excuse me, that was you who determined it was off the beaten path. I figured you would have Mary axe the thread because it was not addressing the OP's concern.

Hi motherto6! I didn't mean for this to turn into "our thread". I was just simply stating my opinion. It's just that rules are rules, and when you have been given warning, it's ones own self control and responsiblity to obey them. One shouldn't cry when the mistake one makes is their own after being warned of the consequences that could arise.

And these were your oppinions:

"if you can afford an attorney and the internet........you shouldn't be on section-8!"

"I don't hate! more than that.....I don't abuse the system. I promise you...I am not financially eligable"

How did your NOT FACT oppinions assist w/the posters question?

I admit.....it didn't! And if you would read carefully, you would see that I apologized more than once. What is your problem? You seem personally offended!

Forget it Shellandty

Does that mean that you don't have an answer? I would love nothing more than to get back to the matter at hand. If I'm wrong.....I'm wrong, but Yulunda was told the rules, and she broke them. Fact is fact. That has nothing to do with me!

Paridise must have gone home for the night, thus the lack of response.
I was a single mother for about 6 years, because my ex beat the stuffing out of me. I always swore I would never stay with a man like that and moved out on my own. Thus WHILE working full time AND going to school, I had to become a member of section 8 housing assistance. It was for 1 year until I received a significant promotion to Office Manager and thus a huge pay raise. Being a single mother is VERY difficult and being on assistance makes you feel bad enough. But then to post a question as this person did and have someone with the opinions you had compounds the condemnation you already feel. I agree that the rules state that even an arrest for a felony would result in termination from section 8 housing, and thus she should have known better. However, your "insulting" her is what sparked my ire. Just because someone is on section 8 does not mean that they can't afford the internet ~ I certainly could. I just could not afford to pay all of my rent at the time. So .... gloves off ..... I have had my say, although I am still waiting for Paridise to eat me for dinner! :D

Hey...obviously I am not understanding or just communicating with people that are in the same boat as Yulunda. Anyway....the whole thing about affording the internet, as you just stated "you could not afford the rent", then put the $30.00 (or so) towards the rent instead of the internet. That's what I don't get.
